What is the point of this session?
In addition to sharing their vision of the future of water sciences, the goals of this session are to: (1) encourage early career scientists to communicate complex topics in a short amount of time to a diverse audience and (2) provide these same scientists with the opportunity to receive feedback about their work.

Really?
Yes.

Why?
Because we want to give students a chance to show that it is not only senior, gray-hair, scientists that have visions and because we are, in the end, the ones that will live to see this future become reality.

Need it really be on the future, how about my own research?
You are very welcome to include some of your research but we ask that this not be the focus of your presentation.  There are other sessions at AGU where you can present your research.  The purpose of this session is to facilitate discussion and share the ideas of young scientists.

I have a vision, but I'm not that good of a speaker, is that a problem?
Please feel free to look back through our archived blog posts for help on preparing for the session.  This post and those that follow (on presentation phases 2-4) are especially helpful.

If I'm already first author on an abstract, how can I submit a second first author abstract to this session?
Because this session is being organized outside the traditional submission manager, you are allowed to submit to our session.  Don't worry!

When do I have to submit my abstract?
You should submit the text portion of your abstract according to the AGU abstract deadline, which is August 3th.

Do I have to present using a slide show?
You are free to present however you choose.  With that said you may use PowerPoint or a similar slide show presentation style to present your work but this is not the only option!  We encourage you to be creative, entertaining, and have fun!
