AGU is three weeks away...

By now we hope that you've had a chance to start planning and designing what your talk for AGU will look and sound like.  It's helpful to do the first two stages of presenting (i.e. planning and designing') without even opening up Powerpoint, Prezi, video editing software, or whatever form of media you plan to use.

Just grab a piece of paper and pencil, find a quiet spot (or a cafe if you need a little background noise to keep you focused), and start writing an outline.  Just as we posted previously in our 11/12/2014 post, Dr. Janine Castro recommends want to think about:

(1) a short and memorable title,
(2) three main points, and
(3) the take home message.

Once you've figured out the basic layout of your talk, then you can start collecting visuals including images, videos, figures, etc.  Be sure to have a clear idea of how these visuals will help you explain the three main points and your take home message.

See our previous post on designing a presentation for more info.
